Using documentation

# Using documentation

Choose a feature beneath its heading in the left-hand list. Its document opens on the right.

## Expand or collapse an area

Each root area has a chevron beside its heading. Click the heading or chevron to collapse or expand its list. Areas start expanded. Your collapse choices are remembered while you navigate documentation in the same browser tab session.

Feature names are indented beneath their area. Collapsing an area hides its links; it does not close the document you are reading.

## Choose the explanation

**User guide** explains how to use the feature, what its controls mean and what happens when you save or change something.

**Developer / AI specification** explains its design, implementation and maintenance requirements. Both are available in this installation. A distributed edition includes only user guides, so it does not show a technical-document link.

## Follow related topics

Links within a document open related explanations. The documents are also ordinary files in a documentation folder that can be read separately from MeOS. Use Main menu to return to the application tools.

## Current behaviour and future work

Guides describe finalized development stages. Planned improvements are identified separately so you can tell what is available now.

Read [Purpose and core](../foundation/core.md) for MeOS's intent and foundation.
